Buyer's Guide:

Wood

When selecting the right hardwood floor it's easy to choose based only on color and appearance. However, there are many other factors you want to consider as well, such as hardness, stability, mill quality, and sustainability. Every home has it's own unique environment, and we will work closely to provide you with the best options for your project.

Texture

Because Wood Wise is not your typical hardwood floor company, we offer an impressive variety of hand textured flooring in addition to the traditional glass-smooth finish. Rough-sawn, handscraped, and wire brushed are just a few of the custom details we can add to your project.

Color

Inspired by the latest lifestyle magazine or a special family heirloom? Our artisans at Wood Wise will embrace your vision and create an original floor that is yours alone. The possibilities are indeed endless. Our stains and finishes feature a large variety of traditional and chic colors, but feel free to challenge us with something original!

Finish

Finish is the lifeblood of hardwood floors, adding richness, color, and durability. The main factors to consider when choosing a finish are its abrasion resistance, sheen, visual aesthetic, and ease of maintenance. We have worked with numerous types of finish and give recommendations based on your end vision. Allow us to show you different finish samples before making a final decision, as this choice is one you will enjoy for years to come. Quality of finish is one of the biggest reasons for disparity between contractor bid prices, don't skimp in this area! A quality finish should keep your floor hassle free for 15 or more years.

Mill

Using boards that are precisely milled will give your floor more stability, minimize gaps and seams, and improve overall appearance. This is another large factor for disparities between bid prices. We recommend mills such as Aacer, Shamrock, Carlisle, Heritage, and Muscanell. Though the end result of a project leans heavily on the craftsmanship and attention to detail, the quality of the boards being used plays a very crucial role.
